Delivery Policy

Metal Products Direct offer UK mainland delivery on every product within our website.

Upon receipt of an order and payment, delivery to your location will usually be within 3-28 days unless otherwise stated for the particular product you are ordering.

Bespoke products will require longer to allow for their manufacture; we will give you an estimated delivery time upon purchase.

The product(s) will be delivered to you at the shipping address you provide with your order.

How Long will Delivery Take?

Delivery periods will vary; our sales team will advise you of an estimated delivery date following receipt of your order and our despatch team will confirm the delivery date when your order is ready for despatch.

Delays

If for some reason we are unable to fulfil the order within the time frame specified, we will contact you directly as soon as we are aware to discuss the delay.

You will always have the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait, although bespoke orders will have a cancellation charge applied.

We ask customers to note that we cannot be held responsible for delays in transit once the product(s) have been dispatched.

Delivery Times

Delivery will be usually be made between 7.30 am and 4.30 pm on business days and during such hours you will need to make sure we are able to access the address for delivery in order to deliver the goods.

Saturday morning deliveries are available upon request and will be subject to an additional charge. To ensure Saturday delivery, we advise speaking with a member of our team prior to placing an order.

Delivery Address

Metal Products Direct can deliver to most UK mainland addresses. Orders and deliveries are subject to our Terms and Conditions which you must have read and accepted. We recommend that you read these before placing your order.

Please note that for some rural areas, we may not be able to arrange delivery, or we may have to charge additional delivery costs. In this case, we will contact you before shipment.

Delivery to an address other than your billing address is permitted. In this case, the delivery address must be advised to us when placing the order.

Unloading

Some of our products are heavy and bulky. Items ordered in bulk quantities may be delivered on a pallet and might need to be unloaded with the aid of special equipment such as a fork lift truck, tail lift, pallet truck or with additional manpower.

You will be responsible for all arrangements to unload and store the goods when delivered to you.

Please ensure the delivery area is hard, level and safe to take the weight of a pallet truck carrying up to a maximum of 1 tonne in weight.

Please be aware most of our products are delivered by lorry or large vans and will require appropriate access. Our couriers may not be able to move your goods far from the vehicle and may need assistance when unloading.

You must notify us of any access issues or inability to accept delivery from certain types of vehicle such as side loading trucks when ordering under ‘Special Delivery Instructions’, indicating additional contact details if required.

Please note that our driver will not be able to move your goods far from the vehicle. If your delivery point is on an incline the driver will not be able to push the pallet truck up or down the tail lift whilst on an incline as the pallet could topple.

We cannot deliver onto cobbles, gravel or uneven surfaces. Under those circumstances the pallet will be left at the nearest available safe delivery point.

If you anticipate or have any doubts as to whether you may have difficulty with unloading your order, you must tell us when placing your order.

In rare cases we may need to charge extra if we have to provide an alternative method of delivery to our normal service.

Acceptance

You must examine the goods on arrival. If you are asked for your signature on delivery, you must examine the goods before signing for it.

If you refuse to take delivery of any goods and/or to allow performance of the services then we shall be entitled to withhold delivery and/or performance of any other goods and reserve the right to charge for re-delivery.

Care of Products and Responsibility on Delivery

Ownership of the products will normally pass to you on the later of (a) delivery or (b) when payment is received by us in full. Once a product is delivered to you, it is at your risk. Metal Products Direct will ensure the product in transit up to the point of delivery only. If you are unable or unwilling for any reason to take delivery of products on the delivery date advised to you, and have not given at least 48 hours’ notice before such date, or if we have been unable to deliver on this date because of problems with access to the delivery address, we may at our discretion store the products at your risk and charge the storage costs and any additional costs incurred as a result of failed delivery and any further attempt to deliver. .
